One of things that I had to get over as a Christian (right now in my life) is my age. I have heard it all – You are too young to have lived a life of difficulties or you are too young to know any better or I am older and therefore have more knowledge. It happens as a young Christian and Paul warns us to not let this stop us.
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
One of the ideas I try to stress through this blog is how important our actions are. Somebody is watching you and you are setting an example for that individual. Don’t let your lack of age or experience hinder you. Perhaps you are not ready to teach or work with others. First work on your own life; make sure you are an example that will lift others up and inspire others to live a better life for Christ. You never know whose life you will affect if you are fully focused on God and living for Him. Don’t get discouraged because you are young and feel you don’t have influence. Find someone younger or work with a younger group. God has equipped you, so by being willing He will use you.
