As I reflect back on my study over putting on the Armor of God and the importance of each piece, I can’t help but think of the importance of keeping the armor on 24/7. It seems to be real popular today to say put the armor on when you get up in the morning or when you feel your under attack. I am going to leave my armor on all the time as a soldier will leave his gear on the battlefield. We are on the battlefield everyday as Christians against the evils of sin. Pray that God will help you through the battle and that He will help your armor grow strong each day.
If we keep the armor on and keep ourselves alert then we can be stronger in our defense of the an enemy that may try to sneak in on us. In a world where sin is seeming less and less severe it’s more and more important that as Christians today we keep the armor on and our defensive minds and hearts open and ready to stand tall for God!
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:14-17
The armor of God is:
- The Belt of Truth – February 5th
- The Breastplate of Rigtheousness - February 6th
- The Shoes of Preparation of the Gospel of Peace – February 8th
- The Shield of Faith – February 9th
- The Helmet of Salvation – February 10th
- The Sword – February 11th
