Are you saved? Do you feel like your life is really different after you accepted Jesus as your savior? You should. It seems in the world today that we pray a prayer and suddenly we are saved, but have we really accepted Christ. Matthew 7:13-14 says:
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
To many times we see people pray the prayer than go back living the life they led just the days before. This isn’t the way God wants us to live. If we have been truly saved we should recognize a difference in our lives – are we going to be sinless? No, of course not, but we should strive to live a God centered life. Romans 12:2 says:
And be not conformed of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
It’s not easy (it’s a narrow path) to turn from the things of our former lives, but it’s a must. We should be questioning all that we do to see if it’s pleasing to God. Is watching the movie with cussing and violence ok before we are Christians? How about after? It’s a decision you have to make with God, but in all things ask Him, question everything, and see where He wants to lead your life. A life truly dedicated to Him will keep His will first!
Want to know the secret to turning from your old ways??? It’s simple, faith. God wants to help us, He is there for us, but we have to let Him. Have faith that God is going to help you, ask Him for help, and most importantly allow Him to. To many times in my own life I have only given God pieces of my life, but I vow each day to give Him 100%, everything I have is His. If we truly do this we will find we are dieing to our old selves and a new life, one focused for Christ is rising up.
